Erie man to celebrate 100th birthday with basket meal
J J Elliott known as Jack, born in Boone Town and now a longtime Erie resident, turns 100 this Sunday. His daughter Mrs Jewel Clemertz plans a noon birthday basket dinner at the Central Park building in Chanute with relatives and friends. Elliott recalls pioneer summers, Civil War era tales, and a life as a blacksmith, cowboy, and gardener now enjoying radio baseball. He has siblings and several children in Oregon, Washington, California, and Kansas, and attends the Erie Baptist Church.
