Lovely Home Emerges by Hard Work

Betty Williams details the renovation of a rural seven mile south of Chanute home bought for 4500 by Mr. and Mrs. Mike Herold and their daughter Cammie. They invested 600 more on roofing, paint, and labor, with help from relatives and neighbors, transforming the abandoned house into a bright early American styled residence with a big garden and a rustic forty acre setting. They planted Christmas trees and plan future expansions while adjusting to farm life and sharing tall tales of screech owls and coyotes.
