Tank drains at city water plant after leak in line
One of two 250000 gallon settling tanks at the city water plant was drained Tuesday due to a leak in an eight inch drainage line. The remaining tank is used at higher capacity and can meet the city’s water needs. Grouting Services Inc. workers used a closed circuit TV camera to locate the leak. The plant can treat about three million gallons daily, with current usage around 1.4 million. If the leak had happened in August, it would be a serious problem.
