A car skidded into a parked flatbed truck at the edge of Osawatomie killing four people and injuring another just before midnight Friday. Victims were Bennie Lewis 29 Dorothea Skinner 28 Karen Mason 20 both of Osawatomie Levi Skinner 25 of Bonner Springs. Joyce Marie Berry 20 of Osawatomie was injured. All were riding in the car.

Three Car Crash Sends Two Hospitalized In Local Incident
Gary Hinkle 28 of R 2 was cited for failing to yield right of way after a midnight crash in the 1700 block on South Santa Fe. Two injured riders remain in hospital, including Nancy Stuckey 24 of Torrance and Wayne Erickson 19 of R 2. Stuckey suffered severe facial cuts. Erickson’s car was driven by his cousin Stephen W. Erickson 18 of 306 S. Tennessee. The third car belonged to Dennis J. Hasson of Overland Park and was unoccupied. A bystander who rode in the ambulance struck the driver twice. No charges yet filed.
