Two inmates Harold Lamphear and Harvey Pinn filed parole applications for June 27. Lamphear, 15 years under the habitual criminal statute, was sentenced May 16 in Erie after pleading guilty to passing a no fund check. Pinn, serving concurrent 1 to 21 years for statutory rape and 5 to 10 years for burglary and grand larceny, was sentenced April 21, 1948, at Erie.

Cabbie Saves Passenger From Car in River
In Bakersfield California a taxi driver plunged off a 30 foot Kern Canyon cliff into the Kern River after a spotlight blinded him. Reuben Ervin 49 rescued his 60 year old passenger Leslie Higgenbotham by breaking the taxi windshield and freeing him. The car was not identified.
