The 1917 American LaFrance fire truck, owned by Roadmaster Les Lawrence, arrived in Chanute and was handed to the Shrine Club for parades. It came from Fort Madison via Topeka, has about 6,000 actual miles, and will be restored with brass finishings and pneumatic tires.

School Bus Crash Fatal to One Student in Oklahoma
A school bus and a car collided near Haskell Oklahoma injuring about 25 students and killing one high school pupil. Three of the 50 bus riders were in serious condition. six were held at Muskogee Hospital, while others were treated and released.
