Car theft charged against Sutton in city court
Sutton Stanley Sutton, 37, was arraigned in city court on a car theft charge and remanded to county jail in Erie in lieu of 500 bond. He allegedly took a car owned by Jim McGee and failed to return it after borrowing it for a haircut. Sheriff George Neely said the charge was filed after Sutton, who had worked for McGee, was arrested Monday in Joplin and returned to Neosho County. Also in court, Mrs. Bentley Morrison of Allen County, Iola, received 30 days for passing no account checks and faces further charges in Eureka.

Pittsburg Woman Dies After Weekend Collision Injuries
Mrs Lenora Gerwert 66 of Rt 2 Pittsburg died in a Pittsburg hospital Tuesday from injuries suffered Saturday in a two car crash on K7 near Columbus. The collision occurred between the two vehicles while traveling near Columbus and led to her hospital admission last weekend.
