A blaze in Henrietta Missouri wiped out the town’s business block last night. In about two hours the city hall barbershop restaurant grocery and a home and two private garages were destroyed. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were hampered by the lack of a water system after a recent bond issue. An explosion was heard at the restaurant before the fire was found.

78 year old pensioner Harry A. McNally was found dead in his Chetopa Kansas home. Sheriff J E Morrow said a total of 4959 dollars in cash was found hidden along with a rifle shotgun pistol and a club. Coroner Dr Joseph Waxse said death was likely a heart attack. Neighbors reported no activity for some time before the sheriff entered.

Shots Halt Car Driver Arrested
Patrolmen stopped a motor car on High way K39 after it fled with no lights. Officers fired at the car and struck a tire to halt it near the pumping station east of the city.
