Hoffa, president of the Teamsters, was sentenced in Chattanooga Tennessee to eight years in federal prison for attempting to tamper with a jury. He received a $10,000 fine plus $800 in court costs. Three co defendants also received three year terms.
Virgil Lowe of 321 S Rutter announced his bid for re election as Neosho County clerk subject to the Republican primary in August. He is completing a two year term with a five year sentence totaling 5000 dollars. all fines are suspended on bond pending appeal. Hoffa faces possible removal as Teamsters leader after a jury corruption verdict and hearings continue with appeals filed within ten days.
In Dallas AP report, Dr Walter Bromberg testified Jack Ruby was legally insane when he killed Lee Harvey Oswald. He said Ruby did not know right from wrong or the consequences of his act and was in suspended consciousness during the shooting. His testimony aligned with Dr Manfred Guttmacher's prior defense evidence as proceedings continued without Ruby testifying.
A reception in Parsons March 21 will honor Postmaster General John Gronouski. D. J. Saia, 5th District Democratic chairman, says he will head a speaking program after a dinner. Gronouski will also visit his sister Mrs Carl Bushey and her Parsons family.

He cited Gas Service Co's $1.7 million request reduced by about $400,000 after tax considerations.
