Larry D. Krehbiel a 21 year old from Pretty Prairie was killed when his car struck a concrete abutment on K17 two miles west of Hutchinson. Reno County deputy sheriff Frank Emery said the vehicle went out of control after Krehbiel apparently fell asleep at the wheel.

Emporia Woman Dies In Storm Crash
A heavy rain Sunday caused a head-on collision on Highway 99 south of Emporia killing Agnes Nuessen 69 and injuring four others including her granddaughter Roberta Nuessen 14. The other driver Jerome Nuessen 25 of Olpe was unconnected. in his car were George Markowitz, 11, his son Gregory Markowitz, 11, and David Schulze, 12, all of Olpe.

Three Injured In St Paul Car Crash At K57 and Washington Street
Three people suffered bruises in a two vehicle collision at the K57 Washington Street intersection in St Paul yesterday around 4 30 pm. Dolly Piland 50 Joretta Frost 20 and Shirley Clift 26 all of Wichita were hurt with Piland admitted for observation at Mercy Hospital Parsons. Elvin Clift 33 Wichita drove a 1954 Cadillac carrying the injured and two other riders from the same party. M E Harris 81 Parsons was driving a 1957 Plymouth and cited for failing to yield the right of way. Harris will appear in Fiile justice court for hearing.

Gov. John Anderson denied executive clemency to Lowell Lee Andrews who is to be executed Thursday for killing his parents and sister in Wyandotte County. The governor said the only path left is a U S Supreme Court appeal and noted no justification to overturn the verdict. Andrews, 20, was a KU student when he shot his family on November 28, 1958.
