Drought Brings Severe Fire Threat to Kansas Areas

Carter expands lead in Oklahoma Democratic delegates race

Former Georgia Gov. Jimmy Carter increased his share of Oklahoma delegates to the National Convention to 28.98 percent at county conventions, with 222 delegates likely earning him at least seven of the 28 district delegates. Fred Harris gained to 17.89 percent statewide, while George Wallace fell to 5.74 percent and uncommitted delegates remained the largest bloc at 363. The final nationwide delegation will be chosen at the state convention April 3-4.

Social Security Office Clarifies Eligibility Age in Pittsburg

An SSA official in Pittsburg says age 65 is the general rule for retirement benefits with the same age for men and women. Disability can allow some under 65 to qualify.
