The 23rd annual free Fourth of July celebration sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars returns Monday at City Park. A free grandstand program titled Lucky Stars from Kansas City features acts including the Riddas Bud and Patti Smig and Earth and Maier. Fireworks costing about 700 dollars light up near the baseball scoreboard after a 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. show. A new 1960 car is awarded by wheel and pistol draw, with thirteen numbers on the wheel. Children’s rides run all weekend.
