Dallas Roles, 16, at 1301 North Garfield, was sentenced to five to ten years at Hutchinson state reformatory after pleading guilty to burglary and larceny. He broke into Royster Junior High May 17 taking $32.75 and entered the Senior High with no stolen items. Concurrent sentences total five to ten years on burglary counts and up to five years on larceny. A grand larceny charge was dismissed. Roles stood accused with Robert Rice and Kenneth Ornelas of Chanute for theft of pipe elevators from a drilling rig May 15. Rice and Ornelas received six months in Erie jail on reduced petty larceny charges.

Altoona Youth Hurt When Truck Flips
A 15 year old Altoona youth, Floyd Kent Wiltse, underwent surgery Monday at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita for severe back injuries from a truck accident Sunday afternoon. Driving a 1960 Ford pickup, Wiltse lost control on a slick US 75 curve north of Altoona at about 4 p.m. The truck overturned into a ditch with the cab crushed into the seat. he was treated at St. Margaret's Hospital in Fredonia before being moved to Wichita.
