Kansas Conservatives Name Wallace for Kansan Ballot
The Conservative Party of Kansas nominated Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace for president with no opposition at its convention in Topeka. Wallace previously earned 10.2 percent of Kansas votes in 1968. Attorney John Couture of Muskee Wisconsin was named vice president candidate. Couture said he would step aside if Wallace chose another running mate.
