Dr Bailey Starts Museum of Trees in Santa Fe Park
Dr William H Bailey, retired VA lab chief, is developing a sylvan museum in Santa Fe Park Chanute for Cha nute students and visitors. About 50 trees representing 30 varieties line the west end of the causeway and south of the boat dock, with many native Kansas species and naturalized plantings. He aims to plant a centennial oak and expand the trail with a Boy Scout group, all funded by gifts and seedling exchanges rather than cash.
