Mainstreet Theater Building Sells at Sheriff Sale for 5800
The Mainstreet theater building and lots at 122 West Main sold at a sheriff's auction in a district court partition case. Robert H. Koch of Koch Bros Furniture bought the property for 5800, the minimum bid and two thirds of the appraised value. The bid, via Carter Brookhart, was the only offer, and the building remains vacant beside Koch’s furniture store. About 25 people attended the sale on the Memorial Building steps. The suit was C. H. Smith and others vs Effie M. Harris and others.
