Drowning at Wilson County Lake Claims 17 year old
Larry W. Caudell a 17 year old from Wichita with Chanute and Buffalo ties drowned at Wilson County State Lake southeast of Buffalo during a family outing. He was revived at St. Margaret's Hospital in Fredonia but died. Time of death listed as 2 30 p m after being pulled from water around 10 45 a m. He stepped into a deep hole while wading and was among a step father brother and sister. He was born January 15, 1947 in Chanute. Survivors include his mother and step father Kevin Wilks and Candice Caudell Wichita his father Buffalo a brother and sister and grandparents from Buffalo. Funeral at Nazarene Church Buffalo burial in Buffalo Cemetery. Body to lie in state in Fredonia until noon Sunday.
