Health Care Bill Near Final Action by Congress

Trail Riders Shift Route Ahead of Cavalcade Reach Pawhuska

Cha nute Bit and Spur Saddle Club riders abandoned highway travel for cross country on the way to the International Cavalcade Roundup in Pawhuska Oklahoma. The 13 Chanute riders halted for lunch in Caney Monday then joined Caney club for the rest of the 117 mile journey. Monday night’s camp was at Hulah Dam with a 5:50 am departure yesterday. Pawhuska arrival occurred about 24 hours earlier than planned and riders will rest before the Cavalcade begins Friday. The Chanute group will trailer horses back to Chanute.

Band Concert Tomorrow At Central Park

The city recreation department sponsors the last band concert by the grade school and junior high bands at 7 p.m. tomorrow in Central Park. The adult band will present the final summer concert at 8 p.m. next Thursday.
