Richard Hart of Charleston was in distress when L B Cribb of James Island boarded his boat to help. Cribb had previously rescued Hart last August after Hart and another man leapt from a burning trawler into the Ashley River. Cribb used a wood plank as a paddle to bring Hart to safety. Yesterday Cribb again aided a stranded trawler on the Stono River at nightfall and found Hart aboard the disabled Sea Spray.

Fire at St Paul Destroys Elevator and Warehouse

Two Minor Accidents Reported in Traffic
Police reported two minor motor vehicle accidents yesterday with no injuries. Man Thrown From Car In Mishap Near Erie
ERIE Virgil Sexton of Erie was thrown from his car but uninjured when his vehicle collided with a motor car driven by Henry Merchant of Parsons north east of here about 11 55 yesterday. Undersheriff John Phelps and Sheriff Lee Montgomery investigated the crash at the intersection of two roads one mile north and one half mile east of Erie. Sexton’s car overturned and sustained heavy left side damage while Merchant’s car also suffered substantial damage.
