Country Lawyer Leading Wallace Convention Drive
Bob Wilson, a 50 year old Alabama state senator and Wallace delegate, prepares the keynote nominating speech at the Democratic National Convention in Miami Beach. He is seen as a flamboyant orator who aims to persuade delegates to nominate Governor George C. Wallace, while noting the potential for a third party bid if Wallace falters. Wilson leads Alabama’s Wallace delegation and chairs the Senate Finance Committee, aligning fiscal policy with the governor’s national agenda.
