Defendant can be his own lawyer supreme court ruling

The Supreme Court ruled 6 to 3 that a criminal defendant has a constitutional right to act as his own lawyer in Faretta. The decision cited deferring to the defendant’s choice and not forcing counsel upon a defendant who insists on self representation.
