Chanute Woman Arrested in Auto Theft Case
An 18 year old Chanute resident Dawna L Uden was arrested at 12 19 a m Saturday on auto theft charges for alleged theft of a 1968 Chevrolet El Camino from Neil Galloway. Galloway reported the theft Friday morning and the vehicle was recovered about four hours later. Uden was later released to her parents on 500 bond and faces arraignment in Chanute District Court.

Burglar Steals Goods From Chanute Home
Jon M. McCoy reports a Saturday burglary at his Chanute home. A thief used a hunting knife to pry a front window, taking an RCA amplifier a Colt .45 pistol a Panasonic cassette recorder an eight track tape player and other personal property valued at more than $490. Police were notified at 5 30 p m Sunday. The loss is estimated at over $490.

Minor driver cited after Main Street rear-end crash
Linda Jones of 318 North Wilson was cited for allowing a minor to operate a car after a two car crash on Main Street at 3 55 p m Saturday. Kenneth Pogue 15 also of 318 North Wilson drove a 1968 Ford owned by Jones into a 1970 Ford driven by Stephen Bockover 16 of 1001 South Garfield. The collision occurred near Main and Lincoln as Bockover braked to avoid a front car. Damages were $100 to Bockover and $225 to Jones.
