Train Crash Kills One in Iowas Frigid Cold
In Aurel ia Iowa the six car Illinois Central Hawkeye Limited ran off tracks in 14 below zero. One crew member, identified as John Nelson of Sioux City, died in the mail car. At least nine people were injured, including two crew members, as the last northwest Iowa passenger service carried 17 aboard in the frigid conditions. Rescue operations were hampered by bitter winds and drifting snow.
