Ten members of the Chanute Senior High School class of 1959 are honored graduates. A Feb 26 reception for the students, their parents and faculty will be held at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The group includes nine girls and one boy: Carolyn Ahlf Barbara Balch Phyllis Carder Suzy Clark David Gough Donna Lucas Margaret Nelson Nancy Oyler Judy Reed and Judy Smith. Selection is based on grades from ninth to twelfth, GPA minimum 2.5, and upper ten percent. 130 graduates exist, but only these ten meet criteria.

Gun Accident Fatal to Youth in Kansas City
Ira Huddleston, 19, an Emporia State College sophomore, died in Kansas City from a self inflicted gun discharge while shooting pigeons. He was descending a hayloft ladder when his .22 rifle discharged, striking him in the head. He was the son of Mr and Mrs George Huddleston of Williamsburg Kansas.
