January police report notes 30 vehicle accidents in city
The January monthly police report shows 30 motor vehicle accidents in the city with 22 arrests for violations. Arrests included two for operating under the influence, six for drunkenness, one felony, six other misdemeanors, and seven traffic violations. Driver Pleads Guilty in DWI Case at Intersection
Ben Yates of R 1 was taken into custody after his motor car halted and he passed out at the US 169 Shaw Road intersection. Undersheriff John Phelps arrested him. Wing breaks from plane kills student pilot in San Jose
In San Jose California 42 year old Robert Jewell Sharp of San Francisco died when a wing separated from a small two place plane during a stunt. Co pilot Ray Stevens 28 of South San Francisco bailed at 500 feet but his parachute opened barely. Stevens said Sharp froze and did not bail out.
