Oldsmobile crash near Erie leaves car a total loss

A 1967 Oldsmobile driven by Robert J. Teak of Girard skidded on a slick Shaw road spot and struck a bridge two miles north and two miles west of Erie at 7 30 a m today. Teak was treated for a facial cut. Neosho County Sheriff George Neely reported the car flipped onto its wheels and was a total loss.

North Viet Troops Attack U.S. Base Near Saigon

About 500 North Vietnamese troops attacked a U.S. base 43 miles northwest of Saigon as terrorism struck Saigon with three attacks. Two Americans were killed and 31 wounded. a helicopter was shot down and crew rescued unharmed. The four U.S. crewmen were uninjured in the crash.

Fort Scott Man Held for Robbery

Kenneth E Sinn a 29yearold cattle auctioneer and salesman from Fort Scott Kan was arrested minutes after a 6990 holdup at the Overland Park State Bank Police said he carried a paper sack two loaded pistols a fused dynamite stick and 70 rounds of ammunition His capture followed a rapid response by four officers within 30 seconds. The holdup occurred five minutes before closing as customers and tellers faced threats and alarms were pressed.

Kansas State students plead innocent in peace disturbance case

Two Kansas State University students, Andrew Rollins of Kansas City and Frank Cleveland of New York, pleaded innocent to disturbing the peace charges stemming from December protests at the Student Union. Their Riley County District Court trial is set for February 17, with no jury.
