Amtrak to Run High Speed Midwest Trains
Amtrak plans four fast Midwest trains by next summer on Chicago–Milwaukee and St. Louis–Chicago routes. Powered by gas turbine engines, the cars are four four car sets built by ANF Frangero and United Aircraft Corp with speeds over 100 mph. Two trains will be leased from the French National Railways with option to buy at 2.2 million dollars each and 3.41 million dollars for the Canadian National builds.

City To Celebrate Centennial Monday
