Docking Refuses Clemency in Pending Capital Cases

In Picher Oklahoma an announced plan will reopen a zinc mill near Cardin and one zinc mine near here. American Zinc Lead and Smelting Co said the Barbara zinc mill will resume operations near Cardin next March with at least 165 jobs. Claud Jones of Miami will reopen one Helen H Mining Co mine nearby as most area mines closed about three years ago.

Mrs. F. H. Goertz of Newton marked her 100th birthday with 160 descendants gathering at a daughter s home. Five children survive plus 32 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. A pioneer Mennonite from the Alexanderwohl Church of South Russia she migrated to the United States in 1874 and helped re establish the church east of Goessel Kansas.
