City OKs federal funds to cover expenses and raises
The Chanute City Commission approved using up to 100000 in federal revenue sharing funds to cover city expenses including 1976 bills due to cash flow from utilities. A 5.7 percent cost of living raise for about 125 union and hourly workers, plus raises for salaried staff, were also approved effective January 1 1977.
