Cherryvale high school and junior high students gathered four to five tons of newspapers and magazines to fund park improvements at Santa Fe Park, site of the former Santa Fe station. Batline Paper Company of Kansas City will buy the papers at 30 dollars per ton for newspapers and about 15 dollars per ton for magazines.
