Chanute will levy a net average 4.94528 percent special assessment for 10 years on property owners in nine improvement areas. The city issued 727248.43 dollars in special assessment general obligation bonds for sewer road and alley work with a 10 year term. Stern Brothers and Zahner Co. bid 4.44528 percent net average interest. the extra 0.5 percent covers administration and a reserve for defaults. Funds go to the bond and interest fund to retire the bonds.
