Searchers pulled burned bodies from jungle near Cerro Carprish after Faucett Airlines DC6 crashed en route from Lima to Tingo Maria. Sixty seven on board, including four Americans, were killed. the disaster occurred during a three day Immaculate Conception weekend.

Dr T O Donovan said the minuscule symptoms appeared Friday and tests today showed they had disappeared as Washkansky’s condition continued to improve under Dr Christian Barnard and the transplant team.
Two men entered a Seattle grocery and demanded money but fled after the operator said there was little cash. One robber noted the money and declared it not worth it.
In Rowley Massachusetts the volunteer fire department raffled its 18 year old fire truck with tickets at one dollar. Police Chief Robert G Hardy won the prize Friday but he plans to sell it saying one department is enough for him.

Mrs Barbara A Morgan 32 of El Dorado is held without bond awaiting a December 14 preliminary hearing on a first degree murder charge in the death of her husband Harvey R Morgan 47. He was shot Wednesday night with a .22 caliber pistol. Morgan was arraigned Friday before Judge Roy B Darlington.
Kansas traffic death log covers 24 hours to 9 am Saturday December 9 1967 listing 611 fatalities compared with 692 in the same period in 1966. The AP report notes Topeka area data among statewide figures.
South Vietnamese forces routed about 1,500 Viet Cong in a major Mekong Delta engagement that MACV called the delta’s largest one-day battle. About 365 Viet Cong were killed. 60 ARVN dead and 102 wounded were reported Friday. US advisers wounded. 53 air strikes supported the operation.
Texas A&M University students will line up Monday to share their blood with American soldiers in Vietnam. The blood drive, sponsored by the student senate, aims to show support for servicemen and potentially save lives. Drive chairman John Daly of Corpus Christi explains the motivation.

Burlington Mfg. Co. signs a five year lease with Chanute Development Co. for the 111 W. 3rd building, effective January 1. First year rent is 350 a month with gradual increases to 600 by 1972 and a 500 monthly renewal option. The company employs 155 at a weekly payroll of 9 000 to 10 000 and is led by Kansas City executives.
Virgil Paul Woods age 37 of 119 S Highland was arrested by the highway patrol on charges of driving while intoxicated and operating without a license. He is in the city jail awaiting a hearing or release on bond.
A 20 year old Iola man Warren E Johnson was arrested after a high speed chase near Humboldt. Humboldt police stopped him for pursuit by Chanute officers and he was held on charges of reckless driving and speeding. He remained in custody awaiting hearing or bond. The pursuit began on North Santa Fe at about 10 30 with speeds from 35 to 40 mph and ended as the car sped through the Dairy Queen corner alley and onto the highway at 65 mph plus. The driver allegedly turned off lights near the Humboldt edge.
President Johnson walks his daughter Lynda Bird Johnson down the White House aisle as she becomes the 14th presidential daughter to marry. The East Room glows with candles and flowers for the 4 p.m. EST ceremony, watched by 500 guests and 450 reporters.
