Jaco Names Dorm and Tennis Courts at NCCJC

The NCCJC Board approved names for the college dormitory NeoKan and the tennis courts N C C J C Jaycee Courts. Jaycees funded the courts, with committee chair Dean Smith noting the title credits the donors and the safari Jaycees. President Dr. J C Sanders reported fall out of district tuition billing of 38500 with about one third received and more collections expected as counties respond.

City seeks programmer for data processing equipment

City has received 42 applications for a programmer position handling new data processing equipment. Four locals applied, with others from Texas Arkansas Iowa Oklahoma and Missouri. The hire requires experience or training for four roles and a decision is due in a week to ten days. The City Commission favored hiring the best qualified candidate, even if not a local.

Police report Tuesday details include Virginia's Beauty Salon break-in at 205 W Main with perfume worth 37.50 and $15 cash stolen after a back door glass was shattered. Otasco store at 4 E Main had a broken back door handle, believed to stop entry. Keily Kinyon reports theft of a four speed transmission with Hurst shifter from a 1971 car in his driveway. In Westfield New Jersey five members of John E List family were found shot to death in a spacious home. List a 46 year old NYC firm executive was sought for questioning. Victims include List wife children and mother and had been dead about a month.
