Byron Hoffman a 17 year old from 1602 South Kansas accidentally shot himself in the calf while practicing quick draw with another boy in his back yard around 9 30 this morning. He was taken to Neosho Memorial Hospital for bullet removal. Police said the youths used a .22 caliber pistol for draw practice shooting at tin cans.
Six Atlantans were asked to read the signature on a letter to the Atlanta Journal praising the Pan American Health Organization. The readings varied with names like Avery, Andrewy, Mr Hunt, Mr Something, Mr Huey and McHenry, though the letter was signed by President John F. Kennedy.
The Associated Press reports northern Ohio and western Pennsylvania faced one of the worst snowstorms in years with up to 27 inches of snow and drifts to 20 feet. A car struck buildings at 205A and 205B W Main causing about 1000 in damage. The 1957 Olds owned by Mrs. Oma Caldwell had been parked with occupants including Jim Caldwell and three youths.
