The Clarke Anderson residence, two miles north and near highway K-39, burned near noon yesterday. Fire Chief reported water scarcity hindered suppression as only 300 gallons on the truck were available. Firefighters saved some appliances and furniture but a jar of money could not be recovered. The blaze likely started from an upstairs furnace after Mrs Anderson raised the furnace earlier.
