An Allegheny Airlines twin-engine plane with 25 aboard struck Eagle Mountain during an instrument approach near Williamsport Mon- toursville airport in a snowstorm. Three crew and passengers survived. two later died at hospital. Flight was from Philadelphia to Cleveland.

A non-injury traffic accident on highway K57 east of St Paul involved Maynard QO Kleinfelter, 70, of St Paul Route 1 and Harry M Crandall, 47, Wichita. Crandall's 1956 Cadillac struck Kleinfelter's 1951 Nash as Kleinfelter turned left. Damages were about 450 and 65 dollars respectively.
