Hitchhiker Robs Joplin Motorist for $15
Chanute police were told by the Wilson County sheriff at 6 a.m. of an armed robbery five miles north of Fredonia about four hours earlier. A hitchhiker took $15 from Elbert Dean Kelly at gunpoint, Kelly drove to Augusta before notifying authorities.
