Kansas City police arrested Larry Buford Hubbard a 61 year old truck driver on a complaint that he severely beat two of his five children with a metal clothes hanger. Lloyd Anthony Hubbard four years old had over fifty cuts and puncture wounds and a deep cut above the left ear while Edward Eugene Hubbard nine years old bore a three inch facial wound and a cut over an ear. The five children were found huddled on a street corner and hospitalized. Hubbard said he had never married the children's mother who left Friday with another man. He has a long arrest record for drunkenness peace disturbance assault arson non support and traffic violations.

Neighborhood scuffle ends in killing in Wichita
In Wichita a Friday night neighborhood scuffle left Jack N. Abram, 21, dead as Delis Embray, 26, was jailed on aggravated assault charges. Detective Mike Gunter said the incident began with a family dispute after a chain struck Alan Brown, Embray’s 16 year old nephew, sparking Embray’s rifle shooting Abram.
