Ohioan seeks 1.25 million after Tate killings arrest

William Garretson of Lancaster Ohio claims unlawful arrest tied to the Sharon Tate murders. The 20 year old ex caretaker was detained and questioned for three days before release. Lawyers filed the claim with Los Angeles city clerk and set a 45 day deadline before a suit. Garretson plans to enroll in college this fall.

Kansas Board of Tax Appeals rules on utilities valuations

The Kansas Board of Tax Appeals ruled on cases involving pipelines and utility firms. The five member board upheld reductions totaling millions in assessed valuations for Natural Gas Pipeline Co Twin Valley Telephone Co Cunningham Telephone Co and Kansas State Telephone Co. It also denied or dismissed appeals from 17 other firms.

At a Chanute city meeting on Monday night two protest groups spoke against a proposed four mile southeast landfill site on a 40 acre hillside near Austin road and against a mobile home park at Ninth and Ashby. The groups urged site studies while officials said state health approval and proper application filings were required.

Tricia Nixon Admitted for Observation at Walter Reed

The Western White House announced that Tricia Nixon 23 was admitted to Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington D C for observation of abdominal pains. President and Mrs Nixon were vacationing there and awaiting word on examination results to determine her illness.

Israeli Air Raids Strike Jordan Bases Near Dead Sea

Israeli jets attacked suspected Arab sabotage bases south of the Dead Sea in Jordan near Safi five miles south at dusk. An Israeli army spokesman said planes encountered light antiaircraft fire but returned safely. It marked the second straight day of strikes on Jordanian targets.
