The consumer price index reached 124.9 of the 1947-49 average, with food prices rising and most major groups up. Strike fund assessment approved for 50 000 engineers
The Advisory Board of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers approved a $2 monthly strike fund levy on 50 000 members to build a several million dollar reserve. Chief Engineer Guy L.
