Thayer Volunteers Run Ambulance Service

Thayer and southwest Neosho County now have 24 hour ambulance service run by volunteers led by Roy Lane with Mayor George Reece. Volunteers Gary Brown Jerry French Wayne Hughes and Lane provide the service. all are Red Cross Advanced First Aid trained.

Tractor accident injures boy on local farm

Tim Erickson aged 14 escaped serious injury after a tractor on Paul Fickles farm suddenly slipped into gear and rolled onto him. He suffered bad scrapes and bruises to one leg and one side, received care at Neosho Memorial Hospital, and was later released.

Cyclist Injured After Wreck on Cherry Street

Paul D. Richard, 29, of 319 N. Kansas suffered a dislocated shoulder and abrasions when his motorcycle slid on loose gravel on North Western Street and into a car driven by Erwin F. Daniels, 63, of 409 N. Garfield. Richard and the cycle were pushed 43 feet by the impact on Cherry Street.
