Two Drivers Are Arrested After Weekend Incidents
Highway patrol and police arrested Robert Stanford of Humboldt R2 at 2:15 am on charges of driving while intoxicated reckless driving and not having a license. Jim Holt of 8148 Washington was later jailed for DWI and reckless driving after reporting a wreck on highway K39. Holt, treated for an eye injury at Neosho Memorial, claimed sleep loss before release on 150 dollars bond. Stanford remained jailed with 165 dollars bond pending hearing.

Japanese youth sails alone to San Francisco in 19 foot boat

Murderer Escapes From Larned State Hospital
Arthur J. Eisenman 54, once of Kansas City Kansas, escaped Sunday from the Larned state hospital after being admitted for mental and diabetic treatment. He was convicted in 1959 for the 1933 murder of Nadine Vogel Love, whose body was found near Bonner Springs after being abducted in April 1933. Police sought him as dangerous. Gov. Man kills wife then reportedly maims himself
Millard T. Moore, a 54 year old market operator, shot and killed his wife at their home next to their store in Manhattan Kansas. He was reported in good condition after severing both hands with a meat saw and was charged with first degree murder. The coroner and police cited a drinking argument as the motive.
