Ted Dillow Home Burns Near Chanute
A two story frame home owned by Ted Dillow six miles east and a quarter mile north of Chanute was destroyed by a fire of undetermined origin last night. Mr and Mrs Dillow and their three children were in Chanute at a birthday party and learned of the blaze later. Neighbors alerted the fire department which arrived at 8 30 but the house could not be saved. Firemen returned at 9 55. Only a roll away bed a television set and a lamp were saved along with a nearby truck moved to safety. Dillow said the property was partly insured and he is staying with two Chanute brothers temporarily.
