Rehabilitation school trains orphaned wild animals at San Francisco Zoo
Maryrose Spivey leads a two year program where injured fawns, falcons, bears and more are rehabilitated to forage and fend for themselves. Animals are tagged for release in mild late summer or fall in Northern California mountains. The zoo shelters birds of prey and mammals, isolates those needing separation, and aims to teach independence and survival.
