Electric accident injures city lineman near Chanute
Spencer Brandon, a lineman for the city from 1503 W. 2nd, was treated for electrical burns at Neosho Memorial Hospital after an on the job incident Monday. He climbed a pole near Custom Covers and Campers Inc when a loose lightning arresteur wire left the top hot. He contacted a hot bolt, was momentarily paralyzed above the waist, and fell about 30 feet but escaped serious injury. He received 4160 volts to his forehead left hand and knee with some internal burns. He was released today and planned to rest at home.
