One Man Is in Jail After $10,000 Robbery

A man is jailed and police seek his brother after a bank branch robbery in JOINER AR involving about $10,000. William Anderson, 21, from Augusta AR, was captured in a soybean field near Cotton Plant in southern Missouri within hours.

Chanute friends and family learned of Wilma Cookus Allen 23 years after she left Ottawa for Chanute Junior College that she was missing and believed killed. Relatives, now alerted, said Allen married Kansas City dealer William Allen Jr. in 1943 and had two sons.

Car Found With Bloodstains In Missing Wilma Allen Case

A blood stained 1955 Chevrolet convertible containing ripped clothing was found abandoned near 22nd and Broadway in Kansas City. Police theorize Wilma Allen, 34, a missing mother of two, was kidnapped and slain after shopping and likely killed in an isolated location.

Erie Legion Hall Dedicated At Soldiers Reunion

The new Wilson Hall on South Main in Erie is named for Emery Wilson, longtime post member and welfare officer. The 50 by 150 foot building features modern kitchen and dining, office space and hosts Legion activities.
