Kerry Alan Summervill a 16 year old junior to be at high school this fall was killed when his motorcycle collided with a truck west of the east river bridge on Highway K39. The truck driven by Martin Duvall of Salina working for Smokey Hill Construction Co. said he did not see the cyclist and Summervill died en route to hospital. Johnson Mortuary is handling arrangements.

New York AP report describes a trial antihijacking system by Eastern Air Lines that uses X rays to scan luggage. The Saferay setup blends a fluoroscope a TV camera and a 12 inch monitor to outline contents and reveal items such as bombs guns and shaving cream in aerosols.
