Wilson County farm agent Jack Linn stars as clown and bullfighter at the Fredonia Rodeo in the Wilson County Fair. He uses his 1926 Ford bucking car while entertaining crowds and protecting riders, a 10 year rodeo veteran whose family helps with the act.
The text recalls county booster trips before events, with 50 to 60 people in 15 to 20 cars visiting 6 or 7 towns in 2 or 3 trips. He attends Senior High School in Chanute, staying with Dr and Mrs Baker, while Kathy Lawrence, 18, will study in Bonn, Germany. Kathy leaves Chanute Tuesday for Detroit and Philadelphia before Europe on Aug 13. The pair participate in the International Christian Youth Exchange with 20 countries involved. Job aims to study the Constitution and social sciences and notes difficulties adjusting from metric to imperial units. He entered the U.S. via Philadelphia and traveled to Chanute through Columbus, Indianapolis and St. Louis. Chanute is described as friendly and small by Job.
