Chanute Adopts Land Use Plan Over City Delay Request
The Chanute Planning Commission adopted the 1975 1995 Land Use Plan despite a City Commission request to delay action for extra territorial planning. Seven of eleven attended. five voted for the plan, one against. The plan includes no extra territorial provisions but a three mile surrounding area was deemed necessary by the study firm. Mayor Oscar Cunningham had urged further study before adoption.
