Evacuation Rush As U S Forces Leave Saigon
U S helicopters evacuated most of the 800 to 900 Americans remaining in Saigon as crowds fought to flee before Communist forces take over. Pentagon said 81 helicopters and over 800 Marines ferried evacuees to carriers in the South China Sea and more than 4 500 Americans and Vietnamese were evacuated in six hours.
